Course Description

It is argued that in order to understand any political system an analysis of its ideological heritage must first be undertaken.  Therefore, the emphasis in this course will be on the competing political ideologies of the twentieth century.  Democracy, socialism, communism, and fascism will be discussed in the context of nations that have adopted these forms of government.  Other major topics explored include nationalism and anarchism.
